Patient movement can be observed and image acquisition is quicker without leaving the room. Soft neck strap allows efficient sensor repositioning and prevents drops. Free handed aiming is easier than positioning wall mounted x-ray, especially when traditional x-ray arm is drifting.
Independent testing found that handheld x-rays are safe and easy to use, and radiation levels are well below FDA limits. Image quality is comparable to wall-mounted x-rays.
